The United Arab Emirates-based Skywards Program allows members to earn Skywards Miles that can be redeemed for a wide range of rewards every time they fly Emirates Air or one of its partner airlines. Members receive gifts and updated information brochures outlining promotions, members’ current mileage status and program details for the rest of the year. Because of the VIP status of many of its members, the Skywards team knew they needed to provide premium service.
FedEx SolutionsIn 2000, Skywards teamed with FedEx to exclusively handle shipments of gifts and information to over 45,000 members around the world. FedEx assigned a dedicated team of couriers and service agents to the Emirates facility during peak shipping periods to insure promptness and accuracy.
FedEx also applied Ship Manager® infrastructure to Skywards’ business. This automated shipping solution allows for large external address databases to be easily transferred to FedEx shipping documents.
Thanks in part to FedEx’s efforts, Skywards has consistently demonstrated success in award recognition. Over the last five years, the program secured top honors (including Programme of the Year three times) at the annual Freddie Awards, the ‘Oscars’ of customer loyalty programs.
